Victoria is working with the residents and businesses in the Redcar Hydrogen Community,  answering their questions and ensuring they are kept up-to-date with the project.

Victoria has spent many years working in customer services for leading brands including Virgin Atlantic Airways and Mamas and Papas.

Sam Tate

Customer Care Officer

Northern Gas Networks

Sam is working with the residents and businesses in the Redcar Hydrogen Community,  answering their questions and ensuring they are kept up-to-date with the project.

Sam has worked at Northern Gas Networks for the last 4 years, working within the Customer Care Team and has previously worked in customers services for organisations including TSB and David Lloyd Leisure.

 

Rebecca Miller

Customer Care Officer

Northern Gas Networks

Rebecca is working with the residents and businesses in the Redcar Hydrogen Community,  answering their questions and ensuring they are kept up-to-date with the project.

Rebecca has worked in a wide range of customer facing roles both in the UK and Australia. Her family ties to Teesside and love of the sea have brought her back to the area.

Carole Marshall

Project Co-ordinator

Northern Gas Networks

Carole is part of the stakeholder team for the Redcar Hydrogen Community Project, engaging, building, and developing relationships with key stakeholders and local businesses.

Carole has spent the last 10 years in the third sector engaging with the local community, previously working as a Community & Engagement Officer for Healthwatch South Tees,  and still supports the organisation as a board member. She was also responsible for the management and operation of the Volunteer Centre at Redcar & Cleveland Voluntary Development Agency.

Carole has lived in Redcar all her life and is passionate about the people and the local community.

 

Susan Newton

Project Administrator

Northern Gas Networks

Susan is working as project administrator for the Redcar Hydrogen Community, Her main role is administration, data input, purchase ordering, invoicing and stationery ordering and all aspects of clerical support for the team.

Susan has spent many years working in customer service and administration duties, previously working for Handpicked Hotels as sales coordinator, Cleveland Cable as office administrator and Royal Mail in customer services.

 

Tracy Piggins

Customer Care Team Leader

Northern Gas Networks

Tracy is leading the customer care team, responsible for working with the residents and businesses in the Redcar Hydrogen Community.

Tracy spent many years working in customer service, business support and leadership roles during her career with the Civil Service, prior to joining NGN.

Fergal O’Donovan

Programme Manager

Northern Gas Networks

Fergal is leading the detailed design of the Redcar Hydrogen Community. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate and a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Fergal joined NGN in 2016. His most recent role was as Business Operations Lead for an area of the North East, being responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to homes and businesses and leading the response to any gas emergencies.

In addition to the Redcar project, Fergal has responsibility for Northern Gas Networks’ research site at Low Thornley, Gateshead which is home to several hydrogen related projects, including the HyDeploy blending initiative, the creation of an energy village to be used for researching low carbon energy solutions and the Hydrogen Home.

Starting his career as a graduate with Anglo American, Fergal has extensive experience in Capital Projects, Commercial, and Operational roles and has been involved in major infrastructure projects including Heathrow Terminal 5, Crossrail and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Tim Harwood

Hydrogen Programme Director

Northern Gas Networks

Tim is responsible for overseeing the detailed design of the Redcar Hydrogen Community. He has 40 years’ experience in the UK gas industry, covering a wide range of operational and project roles across all pressure ranges and asset types, including distribution and transmission. 

Tim’s current role is as Hydrogen Programme Director at Northern Gas Networks (NGN), with responsibility  for the company’s hydrogen programme including the H21 programme which is carrying out pioneering research into a hydrogen gas conversion, Hydrogen Home, and HyDeploy blending.

Previously working for eight years in National Grid Transmission, Tim held a number of senior roles as pipeline engineer, project delivery engineer and engineering manager. In a long career he has also held a number of operational roles within gas distribution, covering pressure control & storage, gas pipe replacement and emergency response.
